I completed my teacher training at YOGACAMPUS, the teacher training wing
of The Life Centre, London, qualifying in March 2012. www.yogacampus.com
I passed my 18 month training with Distinction, and am now a registered
member of the Yoga Alliance, British Wheel of Yoga, and International
Association of Yoga Therapists.
I have professional indemnity insurance, and also an up to date First Aid
certificate and CRB check.
I studied Music and English Literature at Newcastle University, after which I
worked as an Agent in the classical music industry for eight years, managing
Opera singers’ careers. A keen singer and violinist, I continue to sing and
perform with a variety of chamber/jazz/folk groups.
I then went back to University (Bristol) for two years, to study Music Therapy,
qualifying in 2005.
Since then, I have been working as a Music Therapist in London and Oxford,
in settings including Sure Start, the NHS, in schools and in Palliative care. My
MT work is currently mainly with children (Special Needs) and in Hospices.
I have been practising various styles of yoga for 15 years. After a prolapsed
disc and subsequent surgery 10 years ago, I found yoga helped me recover
flexibility in my spine and strength in my core muscles.
More importantly, I discovered that yoga became a psycho-physiological
anchor through difficult times. Practising yoga has led to increased self
confidence, self awareness and ongoing physical and mental resilience to
manage the juggling act and anxieties of life as a working mother.
